Waldorf High School - Meticulous Student

At Academe of the Oaks, students begin each day with the main lesson. This is essentially a ninety-minute seminar in which intra-curricular academic subjects including natural sciences, mathematics, earth sciences,
history, and literature are explored in depth for a three to four week period. The main lesson block includes lecture and lesson, individualized research and writing, discussion and artistic projects. At the conclusion of
the main lesson, the rest of the day involves a range of continuing subjects which include math, foreign language, English skills, social studies, music, practical and fine arts, and physical education. The curriculum overview details the main lesson topics one can expect to find throughout the four years of high school.

The overview also outlines continuing subjects in diverse disciplines. The curriculum goes deeply into the sciences, the humanities, and the arts, while providing a firm foundation in community service and the practical
activities of daily living.

ACADEMICS
The Waldorf high school provides students with a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on developing the life of cognition. During each year of the high school a different cognitive faculty is trained: in ninth
grade it is the powers of observation; in tenth the powers of comparison; in eleventh those of analysis; and in twelfth, synthesis.
