Bowman Garrett received his B.S. from Duke University, with a Religion/Philosophy dual-major. He studied subsequently at the University of West Georgia (in the teaching certification program in secondary English) and at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts–Boston (photography, visual arts, art history and theory). Mr. Garrett currently pursues the M.Ed. in Urban Teacher Leadership at Georgia State University.
Mr. Garrett joined the Humanities faculty at Academe in 2012 after teaching at the Great Bridge School in Maryland. He is a major force behind Academe's literary magazine, Amphora, as well as the school yearbook. Mr. Garrett also founded our debate team in 2012, reaching the semi-finals in the state tournament in our first year of competition.
Mr. Garrett's broad professional experience includes supervision of retail marketing media installations for InStore Broadcasting Network, and product management, web design management, and consulting at MindSpring Enterprises/Earthlink Network.
He lives in Atlanta with his wife, Jennifer, and their three boys.
