Corrina Mensoff
Corrina Mensoff began her lifelong interest in metalworking at the
age of five in her father’s shop. She received her BFA in
Sculpture and Metalsmithing from Massachusetts College of Art in
Boston, and her MFA in Fine Arts and Sculpture from Georgia State
University. In 1997, she established Phoenix Metalworks, a business
specializing in sculpture, furniture, and architectural works. The
artist has taught sculpture at the college level, led workshops
for various age groups, and given presentations at national and
international blacksmithing conferences. She has received several
awards in recognition of her work, including “best in show”
from the curator of MOCA GA, and an award from Icarus International.
Recently, she has been incorporating various other materials with
her metalwork, and occasionally working in collaboration. One of
her goals as an artist is to bring people together to create social
change.
